A new HAMAP-Humanitaire local office has opened in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, with a team of 6 people. This local branch will steer HAMAP-Humanitaire's various projects in Mauritania:

A new project of clearance and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) has just begun in Mauritania. It will run for 15 months and will benefit the whole population of the economic capital Nouadhibou, and more widely the people living on the Nouadhibou peninsula, around 140,000 in all.

HAMAP-Humanitaire will also be responsible for building the capacity of its local partner, the National Humanitarian Demining and Development Programme, the national body in charge of clearance in Mauritania.
