Tunisia's economic difficulties prevent SONEDE from meeting the network extension requests made by the communes.
Since 2016, HAMAP-Humanitaire has supported the commune of Ramonville in delivering its cooperation with Mellouleche: identifying needs, supervising tenders, monitoring operations.

In Soliman, HAMAP works to preserve the local environment and protect the water resource by replanting the Sebkha, a degraded wetland, and connecting priority neighbourhoods to the drinking water supply.
Our work
ACTING FOR WATER
IN TUNISIA
In Mellouleche, HAMAP supports the extension of the public water network to unconnected homes and runs a biomethanisation trial on a local farm.
In Soliman, we are carrying out an environmental study for the clean-up of the Sebkha, a degraded wetland, and replanting it with endemic filtering species.
Priority neighbourhoods are connected to the drinking water supply and awareness campaigns are held with residents and schools.

Ramonville-Mellouleche decentralised cooperation for water and sanitation
From 2020 to 2022, HAMAP-Humanitaire supported the decentralised cooperation between Ramonville Saint-Agne and the municipality of Mellouleche on water and sanitation. Run with the commune and SONEDE, the project benefited 390 people.

Enhancing a natural area and access to drinking water
From 2018 to 2020, HAMAP-Humanitaire worked in the municipality of Soliman, in the governorate of Nabeul, to enhance a natural area and improve access to drinking water. The project benefited 40,000 people.
