Enhancing a sensitive natural area and drinking water for all

The project will fund an environmental study to define the clean-up work needed in the Sebkha (wetland) of Soliman, a site once used as an illegal dump. Technical exchanges between the local authorities and their partners will define and support reforestation with endemic species that have filtering and soil clean-up properties. Residents and pupils from Soliman's schools will take part in awareness campaigns and in monitoring results throughout the project. Hiking trails with signage on biodiversity will be laid out by young people on integration schemes. Connecting Soliman's priority neighbourhoods to drinking water will give residents good-quality water and put an end to practices that harm the environment.
