Tired of tourism that leaves an aftertaste of pointlessness? Weary of criss-crossing the world for the sake of some online deal, or because it is the destination to be seen in? Frustrated that travel gives rise to no human encounter, other than a commercial one? Disappointed that our journeys ultimately make no sense?

«  I know from experience that running around the world only serves to kill time. You come back as unsatisfied as you left. Something more has to be done » (Ella Maillart, Swiss traveller, 1903/1997).

Something? Yes, but what? Why not try humanitarian work?

Yes, yes, you are right to be careful, wary of the excesses sometimes committed in its name, sadly. So it is time to try going on a health mission with the NGO HAMAP-Humanitaire.

Whether or not you come from the medical professions, you will all find something useful to do (medical support, logistics, education and more) during the health missions. Build yourself memories worth keeping by giving your time, your skills and above all your generosity. Let us step outside our habits and dare to meet others through our differences and what we bring to one another.

The health mission to Madagascar took place in April 2017 in the town of Ambanja, whose population includes a large share of people who have migrated from the impoverished areas of the south of the country, and in three surrounding villages, close to the well-known Nosy Be.

The aim of the mission was to give local people access to medical consultations and to medicines suited to their needs, and to run an awareness campaign on the risks linked to AIDS.
