The Friends of HAMAP in Catalonia therefore decided to enter the call for projects run by the Pierre Fabre foundation to fund their health project in Haiti. This call for projects is intended to support initiatives led by local associations in the field of health.

The Pierre Fabre foundation works to give people in countries of the global South better access to medicines and quality care. Its aim is to allow everyone to live in good health and to promote well-being at every age.

To put the project together, the Friends of HAMAP in Catalonia consulted Father Joseph Hilaire regularly in order to target the project properly, and also approached various organisations:

  • Pharmacie Humanitaire Internationale, which will donate medical equipment;
  • The society of the Fathers of Saint-Jacques which will handle the container with the medical equipment for the clinic, its shipping to Port-au-Prince and its reception;
  • HAMAP-Humanitaire's health unit which will provide technical and financial support.

The project file was then sent to the Pierre Fabre foundation, which selected several projects to be presented before a panel.

The Friends of HAMAP project was selected and a remote presentation was made to the foundation's panel.

The project was finally chosen for funding and an award ceremony was held at the head office of the Pierre Fabre foundation , attended by the whole team of the Friends of HAMAP in Catalonia alongside the other award-winning project holders.

The first operational activities are now ready to begin!
