For 7 years HAMAP Humanitaire and its Burkinabe partners have run an education project for children out of school in the Boulkiemde region. It is currently working on a training-of-trainers project and on a project to build or rehabilitate sanitation blocks in schools.

Aims of the mission:

  • Following up how the 5 literacy centres are running: monitoring the pupils, meeting the teachers, the parents and the education inspectors to follow up and set up training for the teachers, buying school supplies
  • Meeting the sponsored pupils in Year 7 , their parents, the coordinator and the head of the school, and following up their results; buying books.
  • Checking the school built in 2015 and its inauguration.
  • Meeting AMUS (association Les Mains Unies du Sahel) and the local authorities on the progress of the school sanitation block project (site visits)
  • Meeting the director of the centre of the Brothers of the Holy Family to sign an agreement on rehabilitating the sanitation blocks and on taking in children leaving primary school at the centre
  • Meeting ASD (Actions Solidaires pour le Developpement) to sign the agreement on the training of trainers.
