The water and sanitation access project in the commune of Dabo, in Casamance, is now coming to an end.

It has made possible:

  • the water connection of 109 households,
  • the construction of 6 sanitation blocks in the town's schools,
  • the rehabilitation of the water distribution infrastructure, allowing neighbourhoods of the commune that had no access to water to use it through standpipes and livestock drinking troughs.

The management system has been secured by an agreement between the borehole management committee and the operator, both parties having received training for the purpose.

This project came about thanks to the work of our local partner APIT Humanitaire, and to the support of our funders: the Artois-Picardie water agency, the Rhin Meuse water agency, the City of Paris, the Bethune Bruay Artois Lys Romane agglomeration community, the Val de Marne departmental council and the Saint Omer agglomeration community.
