At the conference « Cooperating for water and sanitation in Latin America and the Caribbean », organised by PS-Eau, Occitanie Cooperation and the Adour-Garonne water agency and held on Thursday 2 June in Toulouse, HAMAP-Humanitaire was able to present its work supporting the delivery of water and sanitation access projects in Haiti.

Other speakers presented and recalled the importance of the framework provided by the Oudin Santini law. To illustrate it, HAMAP-Humanitaire spoke in particular about the programme to rehabilitate the water network in Saint Marc , in which HAMAP-Humanitaire has been involved since 2016 in partnership with the local authorities (the commune of Saint Marc and OREPA) and with SESAM, the operator of the commune's water service.

HAMAP-Humanitaire supports its partners in setting up projects that last, stressing the importance of raising people's awareness and strengthening local partners so that water and sanitation projects remain viable in the long term.

Finally, OIEau and Goutte d'O spoke about the delivery of other water and sanitation access projects in Ecuador.

The presentations were followed by a question and answer session.
