Drinking water supply for the inhabitants of the rural commune of Sofa
Katanga Province – Democratic Republic of Congo
The commune of Sola has a hospital set up and managed by a Congolese foundation supported by the entire population. A resurgent water source in the forest provides water to the population. Due to the chaotic road network, other hospitals 40, 60 or 100 km away cannot be reached in an emergency. As the only medical offer in the chiefdom, it is important that it is valid. It is therefore vital that the hospital have organized and optimal access to water. It is proposed to tap the spring in the forest and distribute it not only to the hospital but also to the three closest villages.
