Rehabilitation of the Saint-Marc water network, phase 2
The project
THE CONTEXT
Economic, political and climate pressures combine to hold back Haiti's development: political instability, rising violence and heightened fragility. On water, despite abundant resources, weak public structures cannot supply the population reliably.
HAMAP-Humanitaire has worked in Saint-Marc, in the Artibonite department, for close to ten years, strengthening the existing water network and supporting SESAM, the operator that manages the infrastructure with the local authorities. With the support of the SEDIF, 15,832 metres of network were improved between 2017 and 2024, benefiting more than 8,000 people.

Objectives
- Strengthen the drinking water and sanitation service for the priority neighbourhoods of Saint-Marc.

- Metering : Supply and installation of new water meters.
