Eau du Bassin Rennais cooperation – Beitunia

Since 2015, HAMAP-Humanitaire has supported the Collectivité Eau du Bassin Rennais in the operational, logistical and budgetary delivery of its cooperation policy in Beitunia, Palestine. Our mandate covers support in identifying needs and co-designing the actions, supervision of tender procedures and administrative formalities in Palestine, monitoring of operations on site and remotely, and the preparation and accompaniment of missions for experts, trainers, elected officials and members of the steering committee.

The cooperation is built around four components: renovating, extending and improving the drinking water network; building the structures and the wastewater collection network for northern Beitunia and Ramallah; training technicians in the operation and maintenance of the water and sanitation networks; and raising awareness of the project among the populations of the Rennes basin and Beitunia.

The project will improve the performance of the water supply network and structures in Beitunia, create a sanitation network, strengthen the operating and management capacity of the municipal utility, promote coordinated and efficient management with Ramallah, and encourage responsible, sustainable use of the resource together with the protection of the environment.
