The project
THE CONTEXT
The project aims to continue and deepen the achievements of the cooperation between the Collectivité Eau du Bassin Rennais (CEBR) and the municipality of Beitunia, begun in 2015, to improve access to drinking water and now access to mains sanitation for the people of Beitunia. Continuity of water service, degraded by the administrative and technical constraints weighing on Palestinian infrastructure, and the absence of structured mains sanitation make Beitunia a priority area for action.

AIMS AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives
- Improve access to drinking water for the people of Beitunia
- Extend access to mains sanitation in the northern neighbourhoods
- Strengthen technical capacity and municipal governance
- Raise public awareness of responsible use of the resource
Main activities
- Renovation, extension and improvement works on the Beitunia drinking water network
- Works on the structures and wastewater collection network of the northern neighbourhoods, with connection to the Ramallah network
- Training of Beitunia technicians in the upkeep and maintenance of the water and sanitation network
- Strengthening of municipal governance (planning, management, operation)
- Awareness raising about the project and promotion of the partnership among the people of the Bassin Rennais and of Beitunia
