Access to drinking water, sanitation and menstrual hygiene in 14 marginalised villages - INDIA
Tamil Nadu, INDIA
The aim of the project is to support families in 14 marginalised villages located in the three priority districts targeted by this project in Tamil Nadu: Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Chengelpettu and in the urban area of Pondicherry. These districts are characterised by the density and poverty of their populations. The health situation is alarming, with virtually no sanitation or drinking water infrastructure. Access to drinking water is by tanker truck, while open defecation is widespread. This project aims to improve living conditions for local people, particularly women, by improving access to water, sanitation and personal and menstrual hygiene.
