Development of a sensitive natural area and access to drinking water for all
Tunisia
The project will allow the realization of an environmental study to define the actions of depollution to be carried out in the zone of the Sebkha (wetland) of Soliman having sheltered an unauthorized waste disposal site. The technical exchanges between the communities and their partners will make it possible to define and accompany the reforestation by endemic species possessing filtering and soil decontamination properties. The inhabitants and pupils of Soliman’s school groups will participate in awareness campaigns and in the monitoring of the results throughout the project. Hiking trails, with signage on biodiversity, will be developed by young people in integration. The connection of drinking water to the priority neighborhoods of Soliman will provide the inhabitants with quality water and put an end to uses that are harmful to the environment.
