Since 2018 HAMAP-HUMANITAIRE has worked with the NGO UTAB, which built, together with the Indian NGO GIFT, a nursery school (balwadi) and a day care centre. The girls (and a few boys) from the <\/span>Jamrushi Nagar slum in Mumbai are enrolled by GIFT's management according to their situation and what their family can manage.<\/span><\/p>\n

After nursery school, GIFT enrols the girls in local primary and secondary schools, then in a sixth-form college.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the girls come together at GIFT's Day Care centre to eat, work, draw, play and take part in educational activities and supervised outings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Twelve years ago none of these girls reached the equivalent of Year 10. Today more than thirty pass the equivalent of A levels. And around fifteen are in higher education or working.<\/span><\/p>\n

UTAB and HAMAP-Humanitaire, with GIFT, support all these young women.<\/span><\/p>\n

25% of GIFT's needs are funded by Indian sponsors. The rest is covered by UTAB and HAMAP-Humanitaire <\/span><\/p>\n

To that end, HAMAP-Humanitaire is continuing the UTAB sponsorship project, giving GIFT financial and moral support as it builds the future of these girls and young women.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 240\u20ac a year, or 20\u20ac a month, you fund a child's secondary school enrolment fees, uniform and school supplies.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
