This anniversary issue looks back at two decades of work in humanitarian demining, access to drinking water, sanitation and health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In this issue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More than <strong>1 million beneficiaries<\/strong>  in 20 years around the world<\/li>\n<li><strong>14 countries<\/strong>  of operation in 2019, across 4 continents<\/li>\n<li>More than  <strong>160,000 people helped<\/strong>  over the past year<\/li>\n<li>An organisation that has grown from a handful of founding volunteers into a professional NGO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking back at the beginning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born in 1999 under the name HAMAP &#8211; Demineurs sans frontieres, HAMAP-Humanitaire was founded by a handful of friends with the aim of fighting anti-personnel mines. The NGO gradually broadened its work to cover access to water, sanitation, education and health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2019 in the field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Present in 14 countries across 4 continents, HAMAP-Humanitaire&#039;s teams and local partners ran projects in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, with community self-reliance and local capacity building as the priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Read the full magazine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This summary reflects only part of the full contents of HAMAP Mag no. 4 (2019).
