Expansion of the maternity ward of Hôpital N-D de la Paix-LEBANON
Kobayat – Liban
The Syrian conflict has resulted in a very large influx of refugees into the Akkar region of Lebanon (located on the border between the two countries) in recent years. This situation has destabilized the capacity of local operators offering essential services such as hospitals to respond to the needs of the population. Indeed, the number of deliveries at the Notre Dame de la Paix Hospital has increased from 100 to more than 400 per month in a very short period of time, which is far beyond its capacity. This project therefore consists of expanding and developing the current maternity ward into a new one to meet the needs of the population. Given the situation, this project is of an urgent nature.
Goal
To improve the delivery and care conditions for Lebanese and Syrian women and their children.
- Fitting out the new maternity ward (construction, waterproofing, insulation)
- Purchase and installation of new equipment (medical equipment and devices)
- Training of the medical staff in the use of the new equipment
- 300,000 Lebanese and Syrian women and their children
- 2019 - 2 years
- 541,245
