Capacity building of the syrian NGO "RMCO" in order to emergency demining of the main contaminated areas

This project is part of the preparation for the return of displaced populations following the liberation of the city of Raqqa, in the governorate of Ar Raqqa. The main emergency for the population is the demining of the houses. The objective is to enable the civilian population, especially the many refugee families who are resettling in the former combat zones, to return to a normal life in a safe environment. The actions of data collection on the location of the danger, risk awareness and demining that are planned by the project will accelerate the reconstruction and economic recovery of this region marked by 7 years of conflit.
Goal
Reduce the vulnerability of civilian populations exposed to the risks associated with the presence of mines, munitions and other improvised explosive devices.
- Validate the hypothess of a deployment in the area to carry out mine action projects
- Strenghten the capicity of local demining operators
- Map priority areas for a clearance and demining
- The sedentary civilian population as well as displaced persons living near areas contaminated by explosive remnants of war and explosive devices left by Daesh in Raqqah governorate.
